Generator Installation

Orlando families are purchasing generators for their homes at an exponential rate. Power outages from storms, ice and wind continue to affect homeowners, which is why generators are in such high demand. Generator installation offers families immediate relief and peace of mind during severe weather.

Home generators are either stationary or portable. They run on a variety of fuels including, gasoline, diesel, natural gas, propane and oil. Generally, gasoline portable models are less expensive to purchase; however, they typically have shorter run times because of the need to refill the tank, if used constantly. And if the outage is due to wide spread outages or severe weather conditions, gas pumps may not be operational. Natural gas with its constantly available supply tend to be more reliable for stationary models. Mister Sparky offers customers three main options for home generators: a whole house generator, a point of use generator, or a portable generator.

Generator Installation FAQS

Whole Home Generators, also called Standby Generators or Back-up Generators, are becoming increasingly popular in Orlando. Weather conditions and power overload continue to cause power outages in our communities. Homeowners are turning to generators for much needed security and relief.

Why should I install a standby generator?

Never be left in the dark. Standby generators immediately turn on when your home loses power. Your home will continue to heat or cool during the power outage and your food will not thaw or expire while your neighborhood waits for power to be restored.

What does a standby generator power in my home?

When you install a 15kW air-cooled standby generator, you can expect to power the following: most 4-ton central air conditioner’s, refrigerator, freezer, lights, television, and computer. You will easily power just about your whole house. If you own an electric cook top stove, you may want to consider stepping up to a 20 or 25 kW unit.

What do I have to do to make the generator come on during an emergency?

You do nothing. When the power from your electrical provider fails, your standby generator will automatically switch from your provider isolating your generator from the grid (in accordance to the law), automatically start and provide your home with electrical power, all in less than one minute.
